Founding Principal

Tom Phillipson started T E Phillipson and Co in Sale, in 1975.

As other people joined the business and the practice grew, land was acquired at 388 Raymond Street Sale, and purpose built offices established at our current location.

Having seen many transformations of the company, forming partnerships with others through the 1980s and 1990s, the business flourished and the client base grew from a small rural focus to include a wide variety of retail and commercial enterprises and major Gippsland and metropolitan businesses.

With offices established throughout Gippsland and in Melbourne, the vision grew further with the creation of Stockford—the first national firm of its kind, bringing together practices from around Australia.

The Stockford Group pooled technical and specialist resources to enable local accountants to provide a full range of specialist services and extended advice to clients, whilst maintaining day-to-day personal client relationships. The groundbreaking initiative achieved a critical mass of accounting expertise, but also proved there is no substitute for local management by local people.

The Phillipsons tradition of personal service was re-established in Sale in March 2003, with Phillipsons Accounting Services P/L.

Today, Tom still comes into the office regularly and works with our respected and experienced team, which continues to offer an unparalleled quality of advice to Gippslanders, with convenient and effective business, financial and investment solutions.
